Meanbean Records

Formed in 1979, the RPMs were a Milwaukee power pop band that released only one official single. Self-produced in 1980 on their own label, Hit-Man, “I Don’t Wanna Be Young b/w Loved By You” (reissued in 2009 by New York’s finest reissue label, Sing Sing Records, and now long gone and out of print), was truly a masterpiece of power pop 2-siders and is still considered a true gem of the genre today. After parting ways with their first drummer, the band entered the studio in 1983 with a new line up to record the Temporary Satisfaction LP. Unfortunately, the band didn’t even have an opportunity to shop the record in order to score the major label deal any bands from that era would have dreamed of. Denis Laing, primary songwriter and band leader, got a job opportunity he couldn’t refuse in Florida and was pressed to move there. The band instantly broke up and the full-length recording remained unreleased till now. Sure, songs from this session appeared here and there on various blogs and were unleashed on Denis’ Bandcamp page after his death in 2017, but to this day, they have never appeared on vinyl anywhere. So, this is with exciting joy that MeanBean comes in to offer their never released 1983 album paired with their magnificent debut single! All has been repackaged with new artwork based on archival materials, a jacket insert with liners, lyrics and pictures. Now it will be your turn to enjoy Temporary Satisfaction in the format it deserved to be, so that the satisfaction becomes a permanent one! Limited to 400 copies.
