Fear Of War Records
NL Corruption was a punkband from the Rotterdam area in Holland. The band was founded in 1980 by guitarist Bram Visser after his first punkband Pleeboy, in which he was the singer, broke up after two years. The other band members were Huib Rutten on vocals, Willem Molenaar on bassguitar, Marc Wijnen on drums and later on Arthur Kind joined to be the second guitarplayer in the band. Huib and Bram were already part of the punkscene in Rotterdam while the other bandmembers were musicians from they’re local hangout. Their very first gig took place on a punkfestival in Paradiso in Amsterdam and from there on they played about every shithole in Holland. In 1981 they recorded their EP ‘Greatest shit vol.1’ at Joke’s Koeienverhuurbedrijf, a studio where many punkbands recorded back in the days. A year later their EP was released with sponsoring money from their local hangout. Sadly their was never a ‘Greatest shit vol.2’ to be released for the band broke up due to musical differences in 1982.
After NL Corruption broke up drummer Marc pursued a career in criminal activities and got caught while driving a cash transit van across the border. Singer Huib became a professional photographer while Arthur got to be an infamous street artist. Bassplayer Willem stopped making music but made a comeback as a singer in a bluesband a few years back! Founder Bram is the only one that actually pursued a career in music and toured with a number of bands across Europe and the U.S. Up till this very day he is still performing and writing for a number of other artists.
