Reissue of the Dickies landmark "Killer Klowns from Outer Space" EP centered around the title track written for the cult film of the same name. When discussing iconic pop songs penned for film--McCartney's "Live and Let Die," Oingo Boingo's "Weird Science," Ray Parker's "Ghostbusters," to name a few--The Dickies, of all bands, can stand toe to toe with any platinum selling artist in regard to how perfectly their song compliments the film it was written for. The film Killer Klowns from Outer Space was always too irreverent and tongue in cheek to find a footing with critics or the masses and of course the same could be said of the Dickies. However, time has been kind to both the movie and the group, and as both are reassessed by modern audiences, the quality of film and band are all too apparent. This EP is a snapshot of the group over a decade into their career, on the verge of their 4th album. Whereas this would normally be a perfect time for a band to start losing steam, the Dickies showed they still had some top shelf songwriting under their belts, and could still inject personality into any song they adopted as a cover (the EP exlusive "Eep Opp Ork (Uh Uh)," originally from the Jetson's movie, stands among the group's best covers). The Killer Klowns EP is no throwaway single, but an essential entry into the Dickies towering discography. Limited colors include "circus peanut orange" wax, which includes temporary tattoos, and "circus tent red and white," which includes two Dickies balloons. The fun never ends!
