This album features a selection of 021’s musical odyssey, the band, were early exponents of suburban DIY and main stays of the Mell Square Musick franchise. This Solihull/Birmingham Punk Powerpop group later went on to become a feature of the Midlands Mod scene in the early 1980’s.

The album features a selection of tracks from the bands wide repertoire, three are live and heard for the very first time, ‘Twist and Shout’ Recorded at Birmingham’s legendary ‘Golden Eagle’, the two other live tracks ‘Girls Go Out’ & ‘New Age of Pop’ recorded during a Mod All Dayer at London’s ‘La Beat Route Club’ in late 1982.

The album is broken into three Act one is unashamedly DIY, as the band take their first musical steps. Act ii, power punk and a nod to an emerging Birmingham two tone beat; it finishes in Act iii with 5 tracks recorded during their better known Powerpop Mod phase.

There is a fantastic and detailed 12 page booklet that accompanies the CD, many pictures appearing in public for the first time, a really nice touch is the ‘People and Things we Liked’ section, this features many of the bands influences but more importantly, friends and fans from the time of the recordings.

A lot of care and attention went into the compiling and delivery of this collection. It features the popular ‘Pop Song’ single along with the equally sought after ‘Class of 78’. This album has long been anticipated! It won’t disappoint.
