NEW LP
PNV Records
This LP compiles the Conservatives (AKA The Carpets) impossibly scarce 1979 4 track EP along with two previously unreleased 1981 demo sessions. Though their reach never extended past their San Francisco stomping grounds, collectors have salivated over the group's "Kill Hirb Cane" track ever since it was comped on Killed By Death 19. Adding to the mystery was the group's name change from Carpets to Conservatives, as seen on countless early SF punk flyers. Musically, the group's appeal lies in their adherence to proper punk orthodoxy, maintaining a sound rooted in Stooges style high energy, snarling rock n roll as most of their contemporaries shifted into hardcore mode. Needless to say, KBD style punk enthusiasts will rejoice finally getting to hear the group's full studio output beyond their signature ferocious track.
